Adapt the system to your needs

No application is the same, hence each of our solutions is adaptable to your specific needs and design. Below we outline how several key parts of the solution can be modified to suit the thermal challenge you face.

The Evaporator Section

The heat pipe section that is embedded inside the battery pack is the evaporator section. It can be as long as needed, and feature bends to maximise contact with the heat source. A TIM is recommended to maximise the performance.

The Cross Sectional Area

The heat pipe is made from extruded aluminium and the cross section extrusion can be customised to meet the available space in your design. More or less channels can be added depending on the final mechanical design.

the condenser section

This section at the top of the heat pipe can dissipate the heat into the air using a finned heat sink, or by conduction into a water cold plate. The size of the condenser section is the critical factor determining how much heat can be removed.

Our solution was designed to remove 5.5kW of thermal power from the batteries to enable ultra-fast charging. Our UHP-BT solution involved 45 heat pipes, each removing 122W of thermal power.
